Physical Traits: 5'5", dark brown hair, brown eyes, slim and small-framed.

Powers: Phasing. Kitty is a mutant with the ability to become intangible, allowing her to walk through walls and phase through solid objects. She does this by passing her atoms through the space between molecules of another substance, and by doing this she 'phases' through the object, able to take other people with her as long as she is touching them. Her ability also gives her some resistance to both physical and telepathic attacks while intangible. As with every mutation, Kitty's has drawbacks. She can only phase for as long as she can hold her breath, and staying intangible for too long can often lead to exhaustion. Phasing through electrical appliances can disrupt the electrons and can lead to causing the object to short circuit.

Backgrounder/History: The first thirteen years of Katherine Anne Pryde's life were as normal as could be. Her father was an accountant and her mother was an executive at a law firm, the family well-liked and respected among the society of Deerfield, a small suburb outside of Chicago, Illinois. Her intelligence exceeded normalcy at a young age, but her parents didn't find this to be a problem, pleased that they could probably save quite a bit of money with scholarships once Kitty went to college. At age thirteen she began to get awful migraines that didn't seem to go away, and the Pryde's took their daughter to every kind of specialist possible but were unable to find a proper explanation. At least, until a bald and kindly looking man in a wheelchair showed up at their doorstep. The Prydes' told Kitty to wait upstairs, and she pressed a glass to a hollow part in the floor to listen. The second she heard the man say that Kitty was a 'mutant', her headache went away and she fell through the floor right into the living room.
